Correcting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Through Surgery
Carpal tunnel syndrome surgery takes about 30 minutes and is usually done on an outpatient basis. An incision is made in the palm/wrist area. The transverse carpal ligament is cut to relieve nerve pressure, and, consequently, the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.
After surgery. the hand is wrapped in a bulky dressing to protect the surgical site while healing. The dressing is worn for two weeks.
